I was you. A bedside nurse at a top academic medical center, good at my job and quietly wondering how many more years of twelve-hour shifts my body had in it — and whether wanting out of the bedside meant wanting out of nursing.
Then I found virtual nursing. Nobody would explain how to get in, so I figured it out contract by contract: my first fully remote acute care virtual role, then Hospital at Home with a major health system, then inpatient virtual nursing — and today I work a fully remote virtual triage contract while running my company.
Along the way I founded NursiConnect, a virtual nurse staffing company, because health systems kept needing what almost no one was training: nurses ready for virtual care. And I was named Chair of the NC Nurses Association Virtual Nursing Council, where I work on the future of this specialty.
This course is everything I had to learn the hard way, in order, so you don't have to. When I was starting, I had nobody to ask. You have me.
